Our name means “Crazy Food” in Italian – as in crazy good! And that’s exactly the spirit we bring to the table. At Ciba Matta, we pair Italy’s rich northern flavors with a touch of island flair, creating a menu that’s both classic and unexpected.
Ciba Matta is a labor of love and passion for food. Our 20-seat bistro serves authentic Northern Italian cuisine like Momma made with an elevated Caribbean twist.


Patron Chef Stephen Coe is the creative force behind the Keep Left menus. Coe is a nationally recognized and award-winning chef, best known for his victory against celebrity chef Bobby Flay in “Chopped: Beat Bobby Flay” on the Food Network.
Along with his partners at Keep Left, LLC hospitality management, they are excited to add their skills to the St Croix restaurant scene with 1756 Grotto and Ciba Matta.

Chef Nicole Donaldson
Chef de Cuisine Nicole Donaldson is originally from Saint Augustine Florida. Her Italian & French roots inspire her cooking and her background includes interning in a renowned French restaurant where she worked her way up to the title of Sous Chef. Most recently she was the Executive Chef at a popular ski resort area restaurant in Maine.
